I guess you just wouldn't get it unless you were part of when this all went down. It was humourous when Nat said it...and she kinda made that face too...that's part of why it was so comical. Also, FYI, there's also a lot of NON-Japanese characters in anime and manga (Murielle from Noir, Asuka from NGE, etc.).
